OUR World was the theme set to test the creativity of those taking part in the Fair Oak carnival procession.
And locals rose to the challenge with a host of colourful costumes and wacky ideas to make the tour around the village streets a spectacle for onlookers.
Off-the-wall interpretations of the theme saw Bill and Ben the Bin Men and a team of American Beauties turn out alongside a host of Bart Simpsons.
But it was Wyvern Playgroup that scooped the prize for best float with their Whatever the Weather display, while Fair Oak Infant School was judged best children's entry for Friends of the Forest.
The lively procession led the way to the park in Shorts Road where stalls, games and even Latin American dancing had been laid on..
Fair Oak Community Association committee member Daphne Bright said: "It's been a brilliant turnout. It's nice that so many youngsters have taken part as we are trying to promote community spirit."
