THE BBC's weather presenter, Dorcas Henry, was on hand to open Glebians Tennis Club's new clubhouse in Southampton.
A year ago, the wooden clubhouse pavilion, which was built in 1927, was destroyed by fire.
Henry paid tribute to the generosity shown by the club's members who contributed up to 50 per cent of the costs through donations and loans to make the new brick construction possible.
The rest of the costs were met with a grant from Southampton City Council.
To celebrate, the club held an Open Day, and now they are looking for new members. Call Judy Greensmith on 023 8045 7046.
