A FISHERMAN trawling the Solent got the catch of the day - a 7ft-long mine.
A Solent Coastguard spokeswoman said the man, who was fishing alone aboard Determination discovered the mine in his net about 6pm on Saturday off Browndown, near Gosport.
The spokeswoman said she immediately called the Portsmouth Royal Naval Bomb and Mine Disposal team and they lowered it on to the seabed.
