ANDERS Svensson makes his first appearance for Saints this evening as the star of the show at the launch of the club's new away kit.

It will be unveiled on a special catwalk outside Marks and Spencer on the lower level of the WestQuay shopping centre at 5pm.

Matthew Le Tissier, James Beattie, Jason Dodd and other first-team players will be modelling the kit.

But the main attraction, apart from the shirt itself, will be Svensson who arrived on the south coast yesterday.

The new £750,000 signing from Elfsborg was given a few extra days off along with the other Saints who have been away on international duty.

Paul Jones and Jo Tessem also reported for pre-season training today, but Marian Pahars and Imants Bleidelis are away with Latvia at the Baltic Cup.

Manager Stuart Gray said: "Obviously the concern is that they do not report back with injuries but playing for Latvia means they will come back fit and will probably be slightly ahead of the rest."

The Saints Shop in WestQuay will stay open until 10pm to cater for the expected high demand for the new strip which is being kept a closely-guarded secret.

The only clue given is that the black home shorts will also be used with the away strip saving fans from having to buy two pairs if they want both full kits.
