"The best we've played for two years," claimed coach Steve Godwin after Fareham had whipped Chichester 4-0 to stay firmly in contention in the South Premier League championship race.
It was Fareham's seventh win - a result which leaves them handily placed third in the log, five points behind undefeated leaders Maidenhead, at the 12-match halfway point.
A penalty corner conversion by Tim Stainer and a well worked 'training ground' routine second from Jim Moseley had Fareham comfortably in the driving seat at half-time.
"We could have been six or seven up at the beak, but for the Chichester goalkeeper, who performed heroics," Godwin claimed.
Scott Shirley scored twice from open play in the second-half as Fareham ran out comfortable winners.
