Southampton first team played a friendly against Wimborne Wayfarers and romped home to a 7-2 victory to get over any festive blues.
Wimborne took the lead midway through the first half but a strike from Hollie Nutt and a hat-trick of braces courtesy of Sue Crowley, Jo Horsley and Bex Sharr (pictured in action above) gave Southampton the victory.
The Hampshire leagues have restarted and Southampton second team were pitched against Fleet, who were two points ahead and third in the league.
With regular defenders missing it was always going to be a tough fixture.
But Southampton took the early initiative and move ahead through Nicky Le Bas and then went two up through Jenny Kimber.
Fleet forced themselves back into the game with a second half goal and continued to pressurise the Southampton defence but sterling work by keeper, Sandy Lewis and defenders, Emma White, Steff Glossop ensured a win.
The thirds, in third position in the league, met second-placed Basingstoke and ended up leapfrogging them with a comprehensive 5-0 beating thanks to a four goal salvo from Anna Skelton and Di Childs.
Table topping Southampton fourths ran out 6-0 winners over Trojans with Sarah Deighton (2), Mary Annie Mulligan, Charlotte Leathem, Sophie Mitchell and Lyn Price getting on the score sheet while a late goal for Andover saw the fifths slip one place in the league.
Hamble Ladies lost 4-1 against Gregarians.
