THE first Wessex area point-to-point meeting takes place at Larkill this Saturday, January 13.
Some 122 entries will take part in six races, with the highlight at the Army meeting being the Land Rover Men's Open, which is a qualifier for the Hunter Chase Final at Towcester on May 14.
There are 31 entries, including 1999 winner Stag Fight, and former high-class chaser Senor El Betrutti, who could make his point-to-point debut.
Arnold Sendall's Aberfoyle Park and Brian Kilpatrick's Horus are sure to be well supported.
The Army Saddle Club Members' race opens the day at 11.20am, and there is a 20-strong entry for the Ladies Open.
The course is found just north-west of Amesbury on Salisbury Plain, easily reached off the A303 or A345.
