JAMES ADAM has never been afraid to send his horses on the long journey south from his Gordon base in Berwickshire and Chevalier Errant can pay the expenses with interest at Kempton tomorrow.

The in-form eight-year-old had been pencilled in for a race at Sandown last Saturday, but with that meeting been lost to the weather Adam has found an ideal alternative in the Dream Experience "Yours For A Day" Handicap Chase at the Sunbury track.

Chevalier Errant has been campaigned nearer to home in his last two races and has rewarded Adam with victories at Ayr at Doncaster.

His latest success came at the South Yorkshire track a month ago when he held on by a length and a quarter from Last Try after taking the lead at the second last - the first two 15 lengths clear of third horse Barnburgh Boy.

Adam had sent Chevalier Errant on a reconnaissance mission to Kempton in October in his first race for five months and the gelding's fourth to Spring Grove obviously did him good.

He can complete a hat-trick on his return.

Charley Lambert rewarded the patience of his connections by winning on his comeback run at Newcastle last month and can strike again in the Dream Experience "Flight For A Day" Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase.

Since his previous start in July 1999, the nine-year-old had bone chips removed from his leg and connections but he headed Castletown Court two out and held on by three-quarters of a length.

"I thought he would hate the testing ground and need the run," said Derbyshire trainer John Mackie.

Seven Barrows trainer Nicky Henderson introduces a fascinating recruit in the Dream Experience "Drive For A Day' Novices" Hurdle in the shape of Silent Warning.

Formerly a smart staying handicapper on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott, the six-year-old has reported to have schooled brilliantly since joining his present trainer for 35,000 guineas and can make his hurdling debut a winning one.

Henderson may also take the Dex Consultancy Juvenile Novices' Hurdle with another debutante Pedro Pete.

A winner four times on the Flat at around a mile and a quarter last Flat season when trained by Mick Channon, the gelding was sold for 68,000 guineas and looks the type to do well over hurdles.

Jakes Progress went within a short head of scoring on his first try over timber and can go one better in the Halifax Novices' Hurdle at Catterick.

Len Lungo's charge went down by the minimum margin to Dark'n Sharp, who went on to win his next race as well.

Jakes Progress did northing wrong and can gain compensation.

Birotex Boy looks the one for the W.L. And Hector Christie Memorial Trophy after going close to springing a 40-1 shock at Newcastle last month.

Chris Grant's runner jumped well and was in the lead before the final fence only to be beaten three lengths by San Francisco.

He can show that effort was no fluke by taking this novice handicap chase.

At Lingfield, Rayik can take the Jericho Handicap for the second successive year.

Gary Moore's six-year-old is 2lb lower than he was 12 months ago when he accounted for Lost Spirit by two and a half lengths.

And he showed he has retained plenty of ability when third to Ursa Major over this course and distance last month.
