THE PEOPLE of Fareham are hooked on Peter Pan. They've been flocking in droves to Ferneham Hall for the panto.

The show, which ends on Sunday, has flown into Fareham's pantomime record books as the town's biggest selling Christmas stage entertainment. More than 16,000 people have experienced the delights of Never Never Land since the panto opened on December 19. The fun-packed story of the boy who never grew old has broken last year's total box office takings, with figures well into six figures.

The production has been Ferneham Hall's most ambitious pantomime so far, with a cast including Tony Scannell (DI Roach from The Bill) and Aidan David (Arnie from Grange Hill).

Fareham Borough Council's chairman of leisure, Councillor Malcolm Harper, expressed delight at the show's success.

He said: "Ferneham Hall has been producing some spectacular pantomimes over the past few years, but this has been the best ever. It is the successful culmination of a year of commitment and hard work by Ferneham Hall's staff. I would like to congratulate all those involved in the pantomime from the production team and cast to the technical crew."
