SAINTS reserve team coach Dennis Rofe was taken to Eastleigh police station at the weekend for a breath test, the Daily Echo can reveal.
It was alleged that Mr Rofe was picked up by police who had been called to a Chandler's Ford restaurant on Saturday evening following a disagreement. He had driven away but was later detained by police.
An Eastleigh police spokeswoman confirmed that the popular coach had been brought into the station but said he had been bailed."He hasn't been charged at this stage," said the spokeswoman who added that she was unable to comment on the matter.
Only last week Mr Rofe turned down a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers after former Southampton manager Dave Jones was appointed boss of the Midlands club.
