Jewson Wessex League
Phil Stone hit four second-half goals as Brockenhurst went on another New Year scoring spree, thrashing Jewson Wessex League rivals Swanage & Herston Town 5-1 at Grigg Lane.
It brought the Badgers' 2001 goal tally to 11 in two matches - Hamble ASSC having been on the receiving end of a 6-1 towsing in midweek.
Ironically, Brockenhurst were chasing the game for almost 60 minutes, but once Stone cancelled out Graham Lord's early strike for Swanage, it was plain sailing.
Stone scored four times in 29 minutes before Carlo Tate notched Brock's injury-time fifth.
Cowes Sports came from behind with Simon Butler's early second-half strike earning a 3-2 win over Whitchurch United at Westwood Park.
Although Phil MacDonald struck early on, Whitchurch surged into a 2-1 lead through new boy Martin Ging and a 17th minute Paul Clarkson penalty.
MacDonald equalised from the penalty spot before half-time - Butler notching the winner six minutes after the break.
Bournemouth's Dean Higgins threatened Thatcham Town's 11-match unbeaten sequence by snatching an early lead for the visitors at Waterside Park.
But Richard Grist scored twice - his winner came a minute from time - to give third-placed Thatcham a 2-1 victory.
FA Vase hopefuls AFC Totton lie nine points behind, but they are unbeaten in eight games.
Their 3-0 win over Portsmouth RN, secured by goals from John Rowley, Kevin Reacord and Dave Fear, was their fourth in a row.
Tim Packer certainly seems to have the Midas touch at Blackfield & Langley.
Since taking over the managerial reins at Gang Warily, Blackfield have won twice in three outings - Nathan Renyard scoring a hat-trick in the 3-0 win at Downton.
Champions Wimborne Town, with eight games in hand on leaders Andover, fell behind to Paul Palmer's sixth minute strike at Bemerton.
But two goals each by Gareth Barnes and Darren Elmes gave Wimborne a 4-1 victory.
