IN-FORM Basingstoke Town will look to continue their winning run with a victory over struggling Slough Town at The Camrose on Saturday (3pm).

Ernie Howe and his team have had an Indian sign over The Rebels in the past 13 months - recording three comfortable victories over their opponents in the Ryman premier league.

In November, Town travelled to the Wexham Park Stadium and came away with a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Richard Newbery.

Slough are now just one place above the relegation zone after a run that has seen them pick up just a single point from their last seven games.

Howe said: "We've done well recently and it's important to carry on in the same vein.

"Slough are not having the best of times at the moment, but we haven't played against the lower sides at home so far this season.

"We've had three good results against Slough, but that's how it goes sometimes.

"They've got a lot of players with experience so one good result could be enough to give the team a lift.

"But we've got the bit between our teeth and there's a positive attitude in the dressing room which we have to press home."

One player who could be making his return to The Camrose is Town's record scorer Paul Coombs, who joined Slough from Purfleet earlier in the season.

Basingstoke have a few injury problems ahead of the game, with midfielder Stuart Girdler the main doubt.

Girdler is currently receiving treatment for a toe infection, but Howe is hopeful that the problem will have eased by the weekend.

Julian Sills and Rob Cook are also suffering with colds but should both be fit for selection.

Town (from): Tarr, Baker, Bristow, Wilkinson, Forbes, Naylor, Girdler, Cook, J Sills, Howes, Mings, T Sills, Gorman, Newbery, Sumner.

Midfielder Chris Honor is waiting on test results for the groin problem that kept him out of action during December.

Wing-back Mark Lisk was due to play for the reserves in Wednesday night's game against Woking at The Camrose.

Lisk has been out with a back injury since the end of the 1999/2000 season.
