THREE of Beethoven's greatest string quartets are set to be brought to thrilling life at The Anvil, Basingstoke.
The Lindsay String Quartet will be appearing at the venue on January 26 to perform Op 18 no 6, Op 59 no 2 and Op 135, three intimate and atmospheric Beethoven gems.
Op 18 is one of the famous composer's early works, featuring a remarkable last movement, subtitled La Malinconia. Op 59 was commissioned by Beethoven's patron, Count Razumovsky and includes a beautiful slow movement, while Op 35 was Beethoven's last and possibly finest string quartet.
