LAST week's feature in the Andover Advertiser which marked the end of an era at the Newbury Lodge rescue kennels proved a big hit with readers and potential dog owners.

Ron and Janet Webb hope to leave for pastures new later this month and needed to find homes for their rescue dogs.

Now all the remaining 15 dogs at the centre have been placed with new owners who came forward after reading the story. All, that is, except Polly, the eight-month-old terrier.

Although Polly is now the only rescue dog at the centre near Hurstbourne Tarrant she won't be too lonely when her contemporaries leave because the Webbs have a large assortment of their own pet dogs which they are taking with them when they move home.

But they would welcome any offers of a home for Polly.
