ANDOVER firefighters helped rescue a Norfolk terrier after it got stuck down a warren in Linkenholt while chasing rabbits.
The brigade were called at 5pm last Friday after the owner and friends had been trying to dig the dog out for one and a half hours.
A spokesman said the fire service was called as fears grew for the dog's safety but by then most of the hard work had been done.
When the firefighters arrived they could actually see the terrier and continued digging beneath the pet so as not to damage the animal or disturb the soil above it.
The dog was a bit muddy after his two hour ordeal but otherwise perfectly happy.
