POLICE investigating the murder of Hampshire man Lee Horrell say he was one of two men seen in a white Ford Escort van on the day he disappeared.
The body of Mr Horrell, 24 was found in a shallow grave in the Forest of Bere, near Wickham, Fareham, on December 27.
He was last seen alive on November 11, in the van at Hilsea Lido, Portsmouth.
His vehicle, a white Ford Escort van registration number F202 UWP with darkened windows, was seen at the Hilsea Lido at 7.30pm that day.
There were two men in the vehicle and police are now focusing their inquiries on finding the passenger with Mr Horrell.
Det Supt Steve Watts, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We now believe that Mr Horrell was one of the occupants of the van. We are now even more anxious to speak to the other person in the Escort or anybody who knows who he is.''
Police would also like to hear from any of Mr Horrell's former friends and associates or anyone who may have any information that might help determine how and where he died and the circumstances that led to his death.
Anyone with information is urged to call the incident room on 0845
