A DISTINCTIVE disguise could lead detectives to a knifeman who held up a Southampton off-licence.
Police were today still hunting a robber who burst into The Hops and Grapes in Shirley, at 10pm armed with a carving knife.
The raider pointed the knife at the terrified 42-year-old shop assistant before making off with around £270 in cash from the till on Tuesday evening.
Today police revealed the man had been wearing a black and white flecked fisherman's-style hat with holes cut out of the face in the style of a balaclava.
He was described as white, aged 28 to 35, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, thick-set, with light brown hair and a chubby face. He also wore a dark brown sheepskin-type jacket.
