POLICE are hunting vandals after a spate of window smashing in shops and business premises in the Hedge End area.
Damage estimated at £1,000 was caused at Hedge End Butchers in Lower Northam Road between 3pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
Also targeted over the new year period were Barclays and NatWest banks in Hedge End. They both had windows broken.
Pc Alistair Mears, of Hedge End police, said the incidents were being treated as malicious. Anyone with information should call Hedge End police on 0845 045 4545 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
