WATERSIDE fire-fighters are celebrating after raising enough cash to pay for hundreds of youngsters to be kept safe in their own homes.
The Hardley fire crew collected more than £3,500 to supply all infant and junior school children in their area with smoke alarms.
The money was collected as part of the Target 2000 Smoke Alarm Project.
