POLICE investigating the disappearance of Winchester man Benjamin Bailey have appealed to residents in Cumbria who may have seen him.

Mr Bailey has not contacted his family since November 28, after visiting his sister in North London, saying he was returning home to his St George's Street flat.

Now his parents, Mike and Charlotte Bailey, believe that nature-loving Benjamin might have gone to the north of England to visit Seawaite or Ulpha - where his family once had connections.

Ben, 28, had copies of the family tree on his computer and was interested in family history.

Concern is growing for his safety as he is known to be suffering from depression.

When last seen, Ben was wearing a grey and green fleece and blue jeans.

He is 6ft tall, of medium build, with short dark brown hair, brown eyes and a pale complexion. He has a small scar on the centre of his forehead.

Anyone who might have seen him or has information on his whereabouts should call Detective Sergeant Rachel Farrell on 0845 045 45 45.
