Five people have died in an air crash at Yateley. The three passengers and two pilots were on their way to Majorca for a Christmas break.

The airplane took off in fog and crashed shortly after take off into a factory on a nearby industrial estate. No one was in the factory at the time.

Witnesses say it narrowly missed a crane before crashing through the entrance of the factory and exploding in flames. Firemen on the scene say the plane would have been carrying a lot of fuel at the time of the crash.

There were fears of fumes from the Linatex factory which produces rubber products but firemen had it quickly under control.

The twin-engine Beech 200 plane had taken off from Blackbushe airport and was the last plane to be granted permission to leave before the airport was to be closed because of the increasing fog.

Air crash investigators are now at the scene and are working with the emergency services to decide what caused the tragedy.
