Basingstoke Town look set to be handed home advantage in the long-running Hampshire Senior Cup third round saga against Newport.
After three postponements on the island due to a waterlogged pitch, the Hampshire Football Association will assert their right to reverse the fixture to Stoke's Camrose Ground early in the New Year.
"Technically we can reverse the fixture after two attempts, but the clubs mutually agreed to try a third time on the island," said HFA official Matt Parfect. "Both clubs are keen to get the game played and we've given them a week's extension to January 13."
