AN investigation has been launched after a 13-year-old schoolgirl was found dead at her Hampshire home.

Police are looking into the tragic death of the girl who died at her home in Ruskin Road, Eastleigh, early yesterday afternoon.

It is believed 13-year-old Kayleigh Davies had come home from school and was later found hanging at her home by her father.

Police said no other persons were being sought in relation to the incident.

But this morning they were refusing to release details of the schoolgirl's death.

A police spokesperson said: "No more details are being released at this stage. There are no suspicious circumstances and the family has asked for absolute privacy."

Neighbours in Ruskin Road were left shocked by the tragedy.

Amy Burley, of Ruskin Road, said: "All we know is that her father came in and found her hanging."

Mrs Burley said the family had moved into the road when their children were small.

"They are a very nice family. She was a very nice girl but very quiet. If she saw you she would say hello to you but that is all.''

Neighbours said Kayleigh had a brother who they believed was a couple of years younger.

Mrs Burley returned home from a shopping trip to find police cars in the road.

Neighbours said the family had left their home last night and it was believed they were staying with relatives.
