YOUNG KENNY, last year's beaten favourite, remains at the head of the weights on 12st for the Coral Eurobet Welsh National at Chepstow on Wednesday.

There are 26 horses left in the £75,000 contest, which is run over a gruelling three miles, five-and-a-half furlongs, following yesterday's confirmation stage.

Edmond, successful 12 months ago with 10st, has 10lb more to carry this time while ante-post favourite Moral Support is on the 10st mark after picking up a 4lb penalty for his victory at the Welsh course earlier this month.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained King's Road, successful in last month's Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup has 11st 8lb in the Welsh race.

Martin Pipe, who has won the Chepstow marathon five times, has yet to finalise his plans.

He has Strong Tel (11st 2lb), You're Agoodun (10st 6lb), Moondigua (10st 6lb) and Kaki Crazy (10st 5lb) in the Welsh National.

The champion trainer said: "I don't know where 'AP' (McCoy) will be, I've got Seebald in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and what runs at Chepstow will be decided by who's available to ride."

Dual Grand National runner-up Suny Bay is not certain to be in Wednesday's line-up.

Alex Hales, who has taken over training the gelding this term, is hoping for a revival from the 11-year-old, who was below his best in three outings for Simon Sherwood last season.

But he has yet to choose whether to head to Chepstow or Wetherby with the grey, who has not raced since coming home 13th of 17 finishers in his third tilt at the Grand National last April.
