PUNTERS can look forward to business as usual at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.

A top-class event - with an international flavour - is in store for the Pertemps King George VI Chase with the likes of See More Business, Edredon Bleu and Beau set to represent the home team.

See More Business will be bidding to emulate Wayward Lad with a third success in the race having scored in 1997 and 1999.

The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding's victory 12 months ago was something to behold as he jumped fluently and galloped relentlessly to a 17-length call over Go Ballistic in the hands of regular jockey Mick Fitzgerald.

He was below his best when fourth in last season's Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup but returned to action with an effortless triumph in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.

Desert Orchid won four King Georges so See More Business still has a fair way to go to reach the great grey's level.

Nicholls remarked: "A third King George would bring See More the recognition he deserves. It's a pity he's not grey."

The Ditcheat trainer reports his charge in good form ahead of the big day.

He said: "He is a horse I can get fit at home. He looks well, his weight is spot on, and I think he is as good as ever.

"The likely heavy going is against the two-milers. Stamina is our trump card."

See More Business, who also won the 1999 Cheltenham Gold Cup, remains the one they all have to beat.

Due to the lack of opportunities for the top two-milers Edredon Bleu is on course to ply his trade against the stayers.

Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Edredon Bleu has returned as good as ever this season with a third consecutive victory in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon to his credit.

After his latest success trainer Henrietta Knight said: "He's best on a flat course and he's won over two and a half miles at Kempton before."

Good going or faster for the King George would be very much in Edredon Bleu's favour.

Like First Gold, Miss Knight's gelding races up with the pace and so a good gallop looks ensured for the big race.

However, it is doubtful Edredon Bleu will last home with conditions expected to be fairly testing.

Beau is a genuine front runner, who stays all day.

He faced a stiff task when pulled up behind King's Road in atrocious conditions in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury last time.

But if he is back to the form which saw him land last season's Whitbread Gold Cup by a distance then he is over priced at around 12-1.

But in conclusion it is See More Business who has the best credentials and a third King George looks on the cards for this tough and consistent performer with most to fear from First Gold and Florida Pearl.
