Flamingos, who took the Hampshire League County Division 1 championship this summer, have their eyes firmly focused on more silverware in the Winchester & District Indoor League.

They lead Division 2 by 13 points from Sparsholt B, who are the only side to beat them so far.

Flamingos pegged Bishop's Waltham to 99-4 (Bob Bailey 27, Mike Barrett 26) before new skipper Gary Fenigan (27 not out) eased the side to a three-wicket win.

But Sparsholt's challenge faltered with a 16-run defeat by Winchester KS B, who owed much to Andy Worth (43). Winchester made 129-4 before Tim Vokes struck a spirited 40 not out as Sparsholt reached 113-3.

Owslebury's fielders were run off their feet by St Cross Symondians' late order - top ECB coach Andy Gannaway hitting an unbeaten 26 as they passed the villagers' 115-4 (Adie Heath 30).

Fair Oak II and Hursley Park are unbeaten and flying high in Division 4, where the father-and-son combination of Jeff and Jim Yarney proved the key players in Flamingos' win over Fair Oak III.

l With a little help from Portchester, Purbrook are 12 points clear in the South East Hants Indoor Cricket League.

While Purbrook were sweeping towards a fifth successive win - effectively knocking Havant out of the title stakes - Portchester surprised second placed Harting.

The Castlemen chalked up 117-5 before bowling previously undefeated Harting out for 102.

Skipper Graham McCoy (25 retired) top scored as Purbrook totalled 122-3 and dismissed past champions Havant for 106.

Sarisbury Athletic stay top of Division 2 despite suffering their first defeat - a two-wicket defeat by Southsea, who thumped 23 runs off the final over to win. Four points behind, in second place, are Gosport Borough, who skittled Rowner for 50 in a three-wicket win.

Unbeaten Division 3 leaders DOE Cavaliers are 20 points ahead of United Services. They retained a remarkable record of bowling every opposing side out when they dismissed Emsworth for 108 in their fourth win.
