IT WAS a triumphant day for Devon at both ends of Group I in the Famous Grouse Four Nations Top Ten Classic.

Exonia reigned supreme in the battle of the unbeaten leaders with a 13-2 victory over East Dorset A while, at the other end of the table, Honiton scored their first win by beating Dolphin A 9-6.

Moonfleet were also celebrating after they got off the mark with a 13-2 slaying of Victory B, the result sending them above Atherley B who were without a game.

John Farrar, Mike Brown and skip Len Reeves gave Victory their points with a 14-9 triples verdict in an intriguing contest against John Crabb at Portsmouth.

Victory lost the singles, Bill Taws going down 21-17 to Mike Goddard, and the pairs, Dave Deacon and Nick Fairall falling 27-19 to Darren Nutman and Warwick Brown, as well as the fours where Alan Jones was slammed 22-9 by Barry Patterson.

Five Rivers booked their place in the zone final of the Vivienne Trophy with an 88-73 victory over Arun.

Margaret Annetts (25-10 against Rosemary Giles) and Nancy Oliver (28-19 against Betty Williams) put the Salisbury club in a winning position.

Mary Buckle drew 16-16 with Arun's A Greenfield while the Sussex club took the other contest, Margaret Schofield taming Pat Hayter 28-19.

Five Rivers now play East Dorset who edged past former Vivienne winners Dolphin 78-76.
