BEN ALLEN boxes in his third national final on Saturday - (16 December) hoping to make it a hat-trick for the Lawrence ABC.
The Lymington featherweight saw off reigning Combined Services champion John Greaves in the semi-finals of the ABA Novices championships to book his place in the finals at Knottingly near Wakefield.
It's the fourth year in succession that Lymington have had boxers in national finals, and with two national titles won so far, Allen is keen to bring a third back to the club.
Allen reached the final in impressive fashion, producing a stylish performance against a strong opponent to gain a clear 16-4 win on the electronic scoring system.
Club-mate Danny Goode went one stage better than last year when he won his way through to the semi-final, but came to a halt in the semi-final against Eastern Counties champion Paul Prewer of Lowestoft who made age and experience count as he edged a close decision.
