King Charles swung the axe on Rising Sun's 100 per cent record in the Premier Division of the Sunday section
Roy Bailey and Barrie Scott gave Kings a great start, firing them into a two-goal first-half lead. Even when The Sun reduced the deficit, Scott was quick to restore their two-goal cushion and they eventually ran out 3-2 victors.
Romsey Printing's goal had a charmed life against Twyford SC, with several efforts being cleared off the line. Twyford only managed to score once through Gary Waughman and lost the match 3-1 with Darren Blyth (2) and Joe Thompson the Romsey scorers.
Matt Rowe netted a hat-trick for Littleton CC but bottom of the table Winchester Castle had the perfect response with three of their own from Michael Shannon, Steven Srnec and Adam Null to pick up only their second point of the season.
Second-placed Owslebury slipped up 2-1 to Sportsman with Pete Hillary (pen) and Phil Anderson tipping the scales in an even contest which saw the Owls goal scored by 53-year-old manager Nicholson - much to the mortification of keeper David James.
Division 1 leaders Bakers Arms also slipped up, going down 2-1 to March Hare. Andy Oldfield and Jon Peacock had the Hare scampering for victory after Micky Parton had netted for Bakers.
Bridge Hotel took over at the top with a 4-2 win against Rising Sun Reserves - Wren (2), Banks and Gillingham doing the business in front of goal.
High spot of Alresford Old Boys 5-2 win over King Alfdred was a brace of goals from Robert McKeown.
Muswells Reserves opened their winning account in Division 2 with a 6-4 success against Twyford SC. The creative Timothy Squires was man of the match for Muswells, even scoring a goal himself. Andy Naym nailed a hat-trick with Ian Rickman and Matt Owen getting the others. Glen Fielder (2), Andy Lewis and Andy Duncan replied for Twyford.
Owslebury Reserves completed the set of league leaders who lost when they went down 4-1 to Locomotive, who had Martin Cole, Jeff Tompkins, Vince Walsh and Steve Peadon to thank for victory. James Ford scored twice for March Hare in a 4-2 win over WCSC in Division 3. Kier Moore (3) and Nathan Walker (2) did the main damage as Whalesmead tanked eight-man White Swan 8-0.
lWINCHESTER Castle staged a remarkable recovery to beat Crsaders in Division 1 of the Saturday section after being reduced to ten men by injury. They slipped 3-1 behind but came bouncing back to win 4-3 with Dave Coombs (2), Wade Halford and Tony Smallbone their goalscoring heroes. Philip Carr, Michael Light and Martin Sanders were on target for Crusaders.
Mark Stevens was at the double to steer AB Worthies to a 2-0 victory over Worthy Down.
