A DANISH student was today in a critical condition in hospital after he was in collision with a car in Southampton.
The 34-year-old man sustained severe head injuries in an accident with a red Vauxhall Astra as he was crossing Onslow Road, in Bevois Valley, at 1.35am today.
He was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital and admitted for treatment. Police believe he is studying at a Southampton college or at the university.
But they would not release the student's name until his relatives, who live in Denmark, have been contacted.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened near the junction with Cranberry Terrace, to contact Pc Geoff Hordell at Lyndhurst Traffic on 0845 045 4545.
