SOLENT Stars will be drinking in the National Trophy's last chance saloon at Plymouth Raiders tonight.
Mark Scott's men travel to the Pavilions (7.30pm) knowing that only a win will keep them in the competition.
Having reached the semi-final stage for the last three seasons, Solent have left themselves a mountain to climb to progress from the Pool B qualifier.
They lost the home tie against pace-setters Raiders 91-68 last month and are currently bottom of the three-strong pack having failed to overturn a ten-point away-day deficit against Cardiff Clippers.
Against Plymouth they managed only a measly six points in the third quarter and coach Scott is looking for more consistency this time round.
"We need more application during spells when we are under pressure and a variety of plays to give us more shooting opportunities," he said.
Chris Sheldrick has just resumed training after a bout of tonsilitis and Toby Tripalin has benefited from a fortnight's rest after twisting his ankle in training.
Competition for places is increasing with the signing of former club captain Martin Dowdall and Solent are currently looking at Cardiff-based Derek Izilein, who had a brief spell in Spain after leaving Taunton Tigers.
At 6 feet 9 inches, he could be a useful addition to a struggling Solent side who have been sorely lacking in the rebound department.
Solent have no league game next week but, on November 18, they have an attractive friendly lined up against USAF Lakenheath at Fleming Park (8pm).
The match will be preceded by a wheelchair game, starting at 6pm.
