England Open champion Andy Jenkins was in excellent form to win the Searles Tournament - beating Mick Cookman 5-0 with a blistering average of 31.70 per dart.

Jenkins recorded legs of 13, 14, 15, 16 and 21 throws on his way to victory.

Cookman's place in the final had come at the expense of yet another of Hampshire's fine group of youngsters, James Wade - the Hampshire B team player of the match in Lancashire. Wade beat Bob Crawley 4-1 for his semi-final. Paul Gibbs was the other semi-finalist.

Ian Eames beat Mark Eaton 4-2 in the consolation event with Paul Booker and Mark Martin knocked out in the semis.

Bishop's Waltham Men's League

Horse & Jockey reversed their fixture with Vine because of flooding and almost kept their heads above water - losing out 5-4. It was a night for good darts with eight maximums recorded by Roger White, Dave Chawnor, Rob Newland, Rob Mawson, Tony Hall, Stuart Pink (Grapes' landlord), Matt Jones and Matt Robbins. Bootsie Biddle hit a 129 finish and Graham Williams two superb century plus finishes of 145 and 103.

Hampshire Ladies' Super League singles and pairs

Jenny Fenton is again the Super League singles' champion after beating Gosport's Elaine Harty in the final. Fenton, who announced her retirement from county darts at the end of last season was delighted with the victory.

She said: "I beat Dee (Bennett) and Rhoda (Harby) on the way to the final so I am pleased that I am still playing well."

Runner-up Elaine Harty is the latest in the long line of Gosport ladies who have played in Super League and this was her first final.

Semi-finalists were Mandy Keith and Tina Martin. Rhoda Harby, Sharon Simmonds, Sue Hawthorne and Dinks Dagostino all went out at the quarter-final stage.
