Richard Bland's dreams of becoming a European Tour are still unfulfilled after disappointing final round in the second of the pre-qualifying schools at Emporda in Northern Spain yesterday.
The tournament professional from the Stoneham Club in Southampton finished three shots away from the qualifying mark after carding a one over par 72 for his fourth and last round.
Bland had increased his chances of qualifying with a third round 68 - three under-par - which left him in a tie for 26th. But his finishing haul dropped him down to 44th place. There was better news for two Dorset players, Lee James and Lee Thompson, who were fifth and 11th at Perelada - good enough for a place at Final Tour School on November 17.
