FIVE Southern branches of the national supermarket giant Sainsbury's have been recognised as Investors in People (IIP) by Hampshire Training & Enterprise Council (TEC).
The stores each received their awards from Hampshire TEC chairman Robert Hillier at a special ceremony at Botleigh Grange Hotel, marking national Investors in People week.
IIP Awards were presented to Judy Kirby, personnel and training manager at Sainsbury's, Alton; Alasdair Currie, branch manager of the Farlington store, which employs 500 staff ; Lisa Sexton, branch personnel manager at the Ferndown store; Duncan Westbrook, branch manager at Winchester, which serves 20,000 customers a week and Barry Relf, duty manager of the Camberley store.
Robert Hillier chairman of Hampshire TEC said: "Investors in People (IIP) makes its mark in every size of business.
"IIP creates the framework to ensure that training and development reflect business objectives - and more and more organisations are now seeing the tangible benefits of following the IIP route."
