HAMPSHIRE schoolgirl Tarnya Greaney is celebrating winning £500 after beating 16,000 entries in a Post Office competition.
Tarnya, 12, of Henry Cort School, Fareham, is planning to buy her mother a Christmas present with her prize.
She said: "I've never won anything before and it's so exciting.''
The competition was held across three county shows attended by the Post Office road show, and Tarnya's winning entry was entered at the New Forest Show. She answered questions about the Post Office's international activities.
Her mother Tina said: "It's a great surprise. Tarnya doesn't usually go in for competitions, and it was only the second time we'd visited the show.''
