WHETHER or not male behaviour needs defending is a moot point. But, whatever your opinion - and female readers will probably have something to say on the matter - comedian Mark Little will be doing just that in his latest one-man show.
Defending the Caveman, at Poole Arts Centre, until Saturday, sees the former Neighbours soap star take to the stage in what promises to be a comic analysis of the pitfalls and misunderstandings in male-female relationships.
The subject matter is familiar stuff - in female hands, at least. But Defending the Caveman offers a male counterpoint to that legendary compendium of female woes, Bridget Jones's Diary, and its dozens of imitators.
Written by American stand-up comedian Rob Becker, the show won an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment earlier this year, after a lengthy and hugely-successful run in London's West End.
The current production is the first to be seen outside London, and is taking in venues all over the UK.
Australian actor and comedian Mark Little played the loveable Joe Mangle in Neighbours. He cemented his career in the northern hemisphere with a stint as a presenter on Channel 4's The Big Breakfast, and is now hosting adult game show Ex-Rated.
Defending the Caveman is at Poole Arts Centre until Saturday, November 4. The show starts at 7.45pm, with matinees on Friday and Saturday, at 5pm.
