MARINA Developments of Hamble is building further dry stack berths at the Cobbs Quay at Poole to cope with the increasing de-mand.
The existing four-storey rack at the Poole marina is being extended to provide an extra 42 dry berths, bringing the total number of dry stack berths to 106.
Cobb's Quay manager Andy Osman said: "We're really pleased with the level of interest in the dry stack storage scheme.
"It's not only the owners of smaller five- and six-metre boats who are taking advantage of dry berths, we've also had a lot of inquiries from people with boats as big as nine metres.
"Already many customers are enjoying the benefits of keeping their boats in the dry stack. Increased security and lower maintenance costs mean boat owners are protecting the value of their investment."
In addition to the dry stack berths, there are four maintenance racks at ground level, allowing easy access for any repairs required to hulls and/or engines.
The new dry stack berths mean that MDL can accommodate all types of hulls. Sunseekers, Bayliners, Searays, Montereys and Boston Whalers are just some of the types of powerboats being stored.
The second phase is scheduled to be operational from December 1.
