PAVAROTTI and ABBA were among the 'stars' who strode on to the stage at Chute village hall in a fundraising variety show on Saturday.
Local drama enthusiasts made their appearance on stage possible, where they joined what seemed to be a never-ending parade of talent unearthed by producer Annie Griffiths.
Monologues were recited, excerpts from opera sung and a member of the audience joined in the enthusiasm of the evening by writing a poem, later read on stage, as the performances unrolled.
"It was a brilliant evening," Annie Griffiths said. National charity Childline will benefit from the fundraising.
