THE New Forest Show has a new treasurer whose family's links with the event go back 80 years.

Michael Perkins has been a show member for many years, and his grandfather Frank Perkins was the founder-president of the show society 80 years ago. He was a long-serving member of the board of directors of Southern Newspapers, which owned the Daily Echo for many years.

In a general reorganisation of the show's management team, Jean Bunch becomes membership secretary after 25 years as livestock secretary and Suzanne Rogers is the new livestock secretary. Annette Todhunter is the show's new public relations consultant. The show's executive secretary Justin Lance said: "I could not ask for more ideal individuals. Michael is the perfect ambassador for the show's financial affairs, Suzanne will bring a solid administration background and Annette will be an asset through her local knowledge, public relations abilities and media contacts."
