CIVIL engineering and construction company Trant teamed up with Southern Water in sponsoring a Learn To Swim initiative.
The scheme is aimed at four- to 12-year-olds and so far has helped more than 300,000 children in learning to swim.
This year's initiative was launched by the 1980s Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew, who took time off to show off his medal to Trant chairman Patrick Trant.
Company boss Mr Trant said: "Duncan is a fine ambassador for this long running scheme.
"I am proud to be part of such a successful and worthwhile cause.''
