HOUSEHOLDERS are warned to improve security of their sheds after the theft of ten bikes in four days in Gosport.

Inspector Kirsty Blaylock, of Gosport police, said: "People tend to think their bikes are safe in their rear gardens and sheds, but it's no longer the case.

"Thieves are not content with insecure bikes they can easily take when people leave them outside shops and offices.

"They seem to want the higher value machines and are prepared to take risks to do so. They are targeting sheds at night. Shed doors are vulnerable because of low security locks and weak doors."
