MOVES to prevent a former Lyndhurst butcher's shop from being used as a cafe have been overturned.
New Forest District Council refused to grant planning permission for the change of use of the premises, at the eastern end of Lyndhurst High Street. But an appeal was made to the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, and a planning inspector overruled the council.
The inspector said: "I conclude that the change of use does not have an unacceptable effect on traffic congestion."
