THIEVES stole over £500-worth of tools from a van that was left parked in Eastleigh's town centre for just half an hour in broad daylight.
The Ford Escort was parked in an alleyway at the back of High Street when the thieves struck and removed the car's rear window, causing £100-worth of damage in the process.
Among the haul of tools taken in the mid-morning theft were a Dewalt drill-and-saw set worth £400, a socket-and-spanner set worth £50 and a Stanley Tough toolbox with tools worth £60.
