PUB landlords and managers in the South were today assessing the impact of the news that 300 pubs in Hampshire are to be sold.
Managed pubs and independent traders who lease properties from Whitbread are among those affected by a massive shake-up by the leisure firm.
The pubs in Hampshire affected by the moves include the Coach and Horses at Cadnam.
Formerly a dedicated Whitbread pub, the premises are now run by independent traders Brian and Andrea Morrison who bought the leasehold on the premises two years ago.
They have fought hard to build up an independent business, funding their own renovations and extensions to the original building which is still owned by Whitbread, and is set to be sold as part of national plans to sell 3,000 pubs.
