THE SOUTHAMPTON Table Tennis Association are happy with the new format of their Kings Volvo-sponsored league.
The Premier Division of the Southampton League is being staged separately from the rest of the league this season - at the Chamberlayne Leisure Centre in Weston Lane - and it is a big hit according to committee member Gary Longland.
"The atmosphere is completely different and it is very competitive," he said. "We have had a good number of people watching, who have four matches to choose from and it is a great success so far."
Snows A continued their good form by beating Generation 2 10-0, with Alpha A recovering from their narrow defeat against Snows the previous week by bouncing back with a convincing 10-0 win over Snows D.
Snows B reinforced their position as strong championship contenders, beating Waterside A 8-2 with Charles Prendergast and George Cole winning their matches.
Paul Jackson continued his good form by winning his three singles against Alpha B supported by Anthony Ellis and Keith Middleton in a 9-1 win.
