BOOKWORMS need more elbow space at Romsey Library - that is the plea from the constituency's parliamentary Conservative candidate, Paul Raynes.
Mr Raynes, who has had talks with county council deputy leader Michael Woodhall, has called for the shelved extension project to go ahead as soon as possible.
He said: "Romsey Library is a resource to be proud of. It has committed and professional staff, excellent collections of books and reference materials.
"But, as I can testify, having sat a couple of times leafing through the reference collections in the small reading room, it is short of space."
