Basingstoke scraped a first National League 3 South victory of the season last week - and hope for a repeat tomorrow when they visit Hertfordshire outfit Tabard.

But Tabard have made a much better start to the campaign despite heavy defeats by Plymouth Albion and Redruth, so Basingstoke will have to improve markedly on last Saturday's sorry handling display if they are to return home with a second victory.

Havant are in great form in London 1 and will top the table above hosts Thanet Wanderers - and with a game in hand - if they can repeat last season's win in Kent.

Steve Boydell's return at centre should strengthen the backs, although Dylan Raubenheimer is injured and replaced at No8 by Doc Cox.

If Winchester lose at home to next-to bottom club, Guildford & Godalming, the alarm bells will really be ringing at Nuns Road.

Both teams have no points as yet but Guildford have played two more matches than their hosts, so victory would be a great boost to Winchester.

Portsmouth are setting the pace in London 3 South West and will be looking for further success at Jersey. Jimmy Martin is restored as one prop and Jason Ford may make his debut as the other if fit, otherwise the team is unchanged.

Tottonians will be seeking a return to winning ways when they host Cranleigh in London 4 South West.

Paul Brading replaces Micky Johnson at centre but there is a familiar look to the side elsewhere.

Southampton made a brilliant start but have suffered since then so will be looking for victory at Fawley.

Dave Griffiths and Paul Beaton return to action so Tony Morgan is switched to the wing. The back-row is reshuffled and becomes: Mike McNeish, Dave Ingram and Alan Butler.

Trojans exude confidence as leaders of Hampshire 1 and name an unchanged team, apart from Tristan Allan and Alistair Jones exchanging places, with Jones playing at centre this time and Allan moving to the bench.

Hamble lost at Trojans in the Junior Vase so will be seeking to reverse that result this time. They have selected an experienced pack for this game, with Nick Mucci partnering Murray Palmer at lock, while the equally experienced George Winch and Mike Hooper will operate at half-back.

Romsey are flying high at present and New Milton are struggling to get a win, so home advantage should bring another Romsey success.

Reflected in Romsey's form is the selection of an unchanged team, although Richard Samuel does return after being a late injury cry-off last week.

Millbrook have yet to chalk up a success this season - and they host Sandown & Shanklin with Jim Brown restored to provide experience at lock.

Possibly the best news for Millbrook is that Adrian Spafford may be fit enough to take his place on the bench.
