NEW MILTON SFC: A roving shore fixture was dominated by pout and silver eels with Colin Mapstone running out a clear winner with 5lb 11.50oz. Others: 2 Richard Vine 4lb 12.50oz, 3 Bruce Samber 2lb 14oz, 4 Alan Preston 1lb 11oz, 5 Ian Day 1lb 10.50oz, 6 A.Mapstone 1lb 6.50oz.
HAMBLE SAC: A large boat fixture held off the Nab Tower produced a good mixed haul comprising of thorneback rays, cod, spurdogs, pout, whiting, tope, spotted rays and dogfish. Colin Searles won the event with 59 points, included in his catch was a 9lb 8oz thorneback ray followed by Stuart Graham who included a 13lb cod in his catch worth 43 points. Others: 3 Des Rowe 41 points, 4 Terry Coleman 40, 5 Tom Dolton 37, 6 Tony Spridgeon 33, 7 Keith Coleman 28, 8 Neil Powdrill 24.
THE NEW BRIDGE TAVERN SAC: Taddiford gap was the setting for the latest shore competition where members enjoyed some good sport with pout, dogfish, sole and silver eels supplying the action. Robert Perry won the event with a ten-fish haul weighing 4lb 7.50oz followed by Debbie Perry with 3lb 10.50oz which included the night's heaviest fish, a 1lb 14.50oz doggie. Wayne Edgington came third with 3lb 1oz followed by Paul Curtice and Tim Perry with 2lb 3oz and 5.50oz respectively.
ELMORE SAC: The latest small boat fixture in aid of the RNLI silver spoon produced a win for Gary Mills with 14lb 4oz, his catch included a 7lb 7oz cod. Alan Isaacs was the runner-up with 12lb 3oz followed by Dave Featherstone with 8lb 8oz.
SHIRLEY SAC: A shore competition held at Avon Beach produced 172 fish with 33 of the 36 competitors getting a slice of the action, the catch comprised of silver eels, pout, bass, flounders, sole and dogfish. The heaviest fish was a 2lb 1oz silver bagged by junior member Graham Swingler. Andy Moxon won the senior section with 12 fish weighing 5lb 1.75oz followed by Michael Teague 5lb 1oz, Robert Patterson 3lb 15.25oz, Denise Warner 3lb 15.50oz and Paul Dorey 2lb 9.50oz. Juniors: 1 Graham Swingler 4lb 1oz, 2 Lee Cullen 3lb 13.50oz, 3 Joseph Teague 1lb 9oz.
CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON AC: Jason Bowditch won the club's latest shore competition held at Abbotsbury with a 26lb 2oz haul of dogfish followed by Shaun Bowditch with 18lb 6oz. The sport was generally good with plenty of dogfish, some very cod pout along with the occasional codling. Paul Dorey was third with 11lb 6oz followed by Nick O'Hara and Nigel Bowditch with 9lb 14oz and 8lb 12oz respectively.
