ST MARY Bourne Cricket Club presented their annual awards when they recently held an end-of-season presentation evening at the George Inn. Club secretary Dave Macey was presented with an engraved pen to commemorate his 25 years with the village club and umpire Nigel Clark received an engraved lighter whilst gifts were also presented to Patsy Brown-Paul and Lorena for their help on the 'catering side'. Trophies, presented by club president Alan Marsden and chairman Roger Fittall, were awarded as follows: Tommy Gibbons Cup (Sunday XI batsman-of-the-year), Dave Leeson; Ray Randall Cup (Sunday XI bowler-of-the-year), Mick Batchelor; Wells Cup (Saturday XI batsman-of-the-year), Mick Mumford; Hirst Cup (Saturday XI bowler-of-the-year), Alan Wade; Edgar Northey Cup (young player-of-the-year), Chris Randall; Hirst Hand Trophy (fielder-of-the-year), Chris Randall; Annals Trophy (best all-rounder), Alan Wade; Culley Cup, Roberta Stickland/Roger Fittall; Trethowan Cup, Roger Fittall. The club's annual general meeting will be held on 9 November.
