A CAMPAIGN to raise money for breast cancer research has had a fantastic start at a Gosport charity shop.
The Cancer Research Campaign shop in the High Street has been selling pink ribbons to raise money for the past two weeks, and has so far raised hundreds of pounds. The lapel ribbons are being offered for a suggested donation of £1.
Gosport mayoress Iris Binfield has lent the campaign her support, opening it with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the shop.
She said: "There are very few families who have not been touched by cancer. Breast cancer is particularly cruel as it can rob men of their partners and children of their mothers."
The ribbons, timed to coincide with national breast cancer awareness month, will be on sale for another two weeks until the end of October.
